Magnetic Materials
Types of magnetic materials
Magnetic materials can be divided into many types according to their magnetic properties and preparation methods, mainly including:
Soft magnetic materials. This type of material is easy to magnetize and demagnetize, has low coercivity and high magnetic permeability, and is suitable for making iron cores for motors, transformers, relays and other equipment.
Hard magnetic materials. This type of material is not easy to magnetize or demagnetize. It has high coercivity and magnetic saturation, and is suitable for making permanent magnets, speaker magnets, etc.
Permanent magnetic material. This type of material can maintain its own magnetism for a long time under the action of an external magnetic field, has high magnetic energy product and magnetic saturation, and is widely used in electric vehicles, robots, medical equipment, etc.
ferromagnetic materials. Including iron, cobalt, nickel and other metals and their alloys, as well as ferrite, neodymium iron boron and other synthetic materials, with obvious magnetization intensity and magnetization direction.
Diamagnetic material. Metals such as copper, silver, gold, and alloys such as aluminum, iron, and magnesium do not have obvious magnetization intensity and magnetization direction.
Paramagnetic materials. Metals such as iron, nickel, chromium, and synthetic materials such as iron oxide and chromium oxide have obvious magnetization intensity and magnetization direction.
Natural magnetic material. Magnetite, for example, is a magnetic material that exists in nature.
Synthetic magnetic materials. Such as ferrite, neodymium iron boron, iron hydride, iron-nickel alloy, etc., magnetic materials are created through artificial synthesis.
Spintronic materials. A new type of material whose magnetism is generated by the spin electrons in it. It has the advantages of strong magnetism, good stability, and fast response speed.
In addition, there are new soft magnetic materials such as amorphous soft magnetic materials and nanocrystalline soft magnetic materials. These materials were developed in the late 20th century and have high saturation magnetic induction intensity and low coercive force.
